Thank you for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum!

Reminder: I will be on vacation from July 28 – 31 and will be back in the office on Friday, August 1. Please contact Paula McArdle during that time if you need anything. She can be reached at 253.272.4258 x3026 or PMcArdle@TacomaArtMuseum.org.

Reminder 2: Please RSVP if you can attend lunch with us (our treat!) on August 12, 2008 at Old Spaghetti Factory around 12 pm (we can walk over after the 2nd Tuesday program for those that wish to attend the lecture first at 10:30 am)

I have placed a card for Sarah Cross on the desk in the ARC thanking her for the new children’s bookshelf as she donated the funds to make that happen. Please take a moment during your shift to sign the card as I would like her to know how much we appreciate her contribution to our space as I am sure that you would too.

Best regards,

-Jana

Subject: ARC volunteer needed for Saturday...

First off, thank you for all that have volunteered for this special Members’ Opening of Illuminating The Word: The Saint John’s Bible. We are still in need of a volunteer to staff the ARC. Given the anticipated turnout for this event we would love to have the ARC open during that time. If available please reply to Thomas Duke, tduke@tacomaartmuseum.org. This volunteer should be available from 7:30 – 9:30 pm.

Thanks in advance!

Tacoma Art Museum Wednesday shifts for July

Hello ARC Volunteers-

I am in need of a volunteer to cover the following shifts:

Wednesday, July 16 & 23,          10 am – 1:30 pm  &  1:30 – 5 pm

If you can spare some time, please let me know as those shifts currently have zero coverage.

Also, we now have a new children’s book case. Sarah Cross donated the funds to have a custom bookshelf made specifically for the children’s books to match the rest of our furniture. It looks great! If you see her, please be sure to thank her for her contribution.

Thank you,

-Jana

Tacoma Art Museum invites you to lunch on us!

Hello ARC Volunteers-

As I mentioned in my previous email, we are going to have a lunch get-together to celebrate the completion of the Artist File entries into the catalog. By the time we have this get-together, we may also be celebrating the completion of the cataloging for the children’s books as well!

In order to take full advantage of a great opportunity, we are going to offer a lunch following our Second Tuesday program on August 12:

Illuminating the Word: A Painter’s Perspective

Tuesday, August 12, 10:30 am

One of just three American artists who are part of a Wales-based team illuminating The Saint John’s Bible, Suzanne Moore of Vashon Island discusses the process of working with an international team of artists and the techniques she uses to create her illuminations.

We will invite Suzanne Moore to join us.

Please RSVP if you can attend:

August 12, 2008

Old Spaghetti Factory

12 pm (we can walk over after the 2nd Tuesday program for those that wish to attend the lecture first)
