Tacoma Art Museum Volunteer Shifts for June

Hello ARC Volunteers-

I am looking forward to meeting and dining with you tomorrow. Thanks so much to all of you who have RSVP’d!

 

The following shifts are currently not filled for the month of June:

Monday, June 2, 16, & 30                      1:30 – 5 pm

Tuesday, June 17                                   1:30 – 5 pm

Saturday, June 14 & 28                          10 am – 1:30 pm

Saturday, June 7, 14, 21, & 28                1:30 – 5 pm

Sunday, June 1, 8, 22, & 29                    12 – 5 pm

 

We can look at doubling up on some shifts too but my primary concern is filling the shifts that need coverage most.

Introduction to 2008 Neddy 

Location: Event Space

 

Lecture by Denzil Hurley, one of the 2008 Neddy nominees and a professor at the University of Washington School of Art.

Presentation and overview of other Neddy artists by Heide F-LL. 

After the Neddy docent training, at approximately 12:30, the museum staff will be watching a BBC documentary on the Saint John’s Bible, “The Illuminator and a Bible for the 21st Century” (and eating lunch) in the Event Space. You are welcome to stay and watch too, with or without your lunch.

Tacoma Art Museum ARC Update

Hello ARC Volunteers!
Below is the Agenda for our next meeting (so far). Let me know if there is anything that you would like to see covered.

ARC Potluck Meeting Agenda for Thursday, May 22, 2008

6 – 8 pm

 

 

1.         Guest Speaker – Jeanie Fisher from Tacoma Public Library talks with us about conservation and preservation of our ARC collection

2.         Building the ARC collection as we move forward – notes from a collection committee meeting.

3.         Teacher Resources:

            No over the phone registrations – in person only

            Let Courtney know about teacher requests for materials as she is trying to build up the collection (she will join us for the next meeting as our guest speaker on Teacher Resources in time for the new school year)

4.         Loren will demonstrate how to use on-line magazine indices

5.         Reminders:

            Check that all of our books, magazines, etc are stamped with a Tacoma Art Museum stamp

 

 

If you are attending this meeting, please RSVP (if you haven't done so already) and plan to bring a main course or side dish (or surprise us!).
