Docent Training starts up again next week!  Though staff and volunteers are always welcome to attend docent training, this fall training will be a bit different.

 

Since the museum is hosting so many excellent public events related to each of the fall exhibitions, we are asking docents to attend some of these events as a part of the exhibition training.  These public events will satisfy the “lecture” part of exhibition training.

 

The second docent training each month will be a touring workshop.  These will truly be hands on workshops focusing on touring objectives and strategies.  They will include model tours, discussions, and individual and small group time.

 

Please feel free to forward this information to individuals in your department.  If any staff or volunteers are interested in attending the touring workshops this fall please let me know.  And let me know if you have any further questions.

4.         Book mending protocol

 

 

Potluck suggestions: main dishes or side dishes/salads are preferred if you are vacillating between that or a dessert item. As I do not know how many of you will be able to attend, I do not want to break down the food categories by alphabet – this will be a true potluck!

Tacoma Art Museum ARC Shifts Available for Septemeber

ARC Volunteers-

The following shifts are available for September:

Saturdays, September 1 & 29                  10 am – 1:30 pm

Saturdays, September 1 & 22                  1:30 – 5 pm

Sundays, September 2, 9, 23, & 30          12 – 5 pm

 

For those of you that don’t have shifts but cannot do any of the days listed above, we can start looking at doubling up on other shifts so that projects can get done while we are still attending to the public and other research requests.

Jana gone August 13-21

Hello ARC Volunteers-

I just wanted to send a reminder that I will be out of the office from August 13 – 21 and will return on August 22. Paula plans on dropping in during all scheduled shifts so feel free to ask her any questions or express concerns. I look forward to seeing you all on my return.
