ARC Announcement

ARC Volunteers-

Thanks to all of you who attended last night’s potluck! It is always a pleasure to see you socially - and you really know how to contribute to a potluck.

In addition to the pleasant conversation and good food, an announcement was also made regarding the administrative responsibilities of the ARC. Our Ad Hoc committee consisting of Nancy Waltman, Linda Martinez, and Rich Miller, after 2 years of leadership, is stepping back from the administrative duties in the ARC. They will carry on as volunteers, I am happy to state. The day to day running of the ARC will now be handled by me. I am currently in the process of learning all that I can in order to be in a position to provide leadership in this new position. I will spend at least a couple of hours every day in the ARC and drop in during both morning and afternoon shifts to answer questions and assign projects for those who want them. Of course, this will primarily be on the weekdays though I will make a habit of dropping in on the weekends I work as well. I ask that, if you have questions at any time, please let me know. I am even going to request something that will be difficult (perhaps even a little bit ridiculous seeming) and that is;

Even if Nancy or Linda is right there and much more convenient, please get in the habit of asking me questions and coming to me for guidance as much as possible. Chances are very good that I will not know answers at first, but I will learn faster and ultimately be more helpful if I am learning your needs. I really appreciate your help and hope that you will let me know if something I am doing is not working or if I am not getting you what you need.

I would also like to know you opinion on the following: ARC Meetings

We have been offering meetings every other month on Tuesdays and Saturdays so that, hopefully, you would all get to attend one or the other. Honestly, turn out has not been great most of the time. In fact, I noticed that we had more people show up for our potluck last night than generally show up for the Tuesday and Saturday meetings combined. I am wondering how you would all feel about cancelling the Tuesday and Saturday meetings and do evening potluck meetings instead? We will eat, meet and have some time to socialize as well. Please let me know what you think about that option.
