Tacoma Art Museum Artist Resource Center: ARC Volunteers: Checking out materials

Hello ARC Volunteers-

Because I know that the whole matter of who can check out materials and what materials those are can be rather confusing, I am going to recap below. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Teachers - can check out materials (assuming they have registered with us) from the Teacher Resources section only. How do you know that they are a Teacher Resource? They will have a sticker that says "barcode" with a number on it. Without that number, we cannot check out the material.

Staff – can check out anything in the ARC. Be sure it is staff (you can ask!) as volunteers are not eligible for checking out ARC materials unless a staff person checks it out for them. Technically, no ARC materials should ever leave the building so, presumably, if a staff person has checked it out, it is as his or her desk.

Docents – have their own materials that are not ARC materials on the back shelf. They can write in their own checkout book that they have taken materials from that area but you don't need to do anything for that. If they want to take ARC cataloged materials they can NOT unless they happen to fall under one of the other 2 categories listed above.
